A visit to The Bluebell Railway

Mick Funnell kindly arranged another visit to the Bluebell Railway Atlantic Group where they have a major project in progress to reconstruct a Brighton H2 Atlantic steam engine based on the 32424 "Beachy Head" at Sheffield Park last Tuesday.
Mick says everyone was quite taken with the progress since our last visit in
 April 2013.
We thank project Design Engineer Fred Bailey for his time and
willingness to escort us round.

Below are some of the pictures that he took at the event.

BT PRATS and LAWS Dinner 2014

On the 31st January, 30 members from the PRATS and LAWS had a combined belated Christams/New Year evening party dinner at Ridgways in Meads.

Several members who regularly attend, were unable to do so at the outset of the arranged date for various reasons but much nearer the time Glen Robinson broke a tooth;  he changed his meal orders to suit. Then due to another problem he was unable to attend. The evening of the day, Ian Oddy had to take his wife Lesley to A&E at the local DGH for a disturbing problem. They returned home after Lesley was discharged as all being well, at about 0100 Saturday. Babs and David Page were also unable to attend as Babs has recently been unwell and is feeling a little under the weather.

Bob Milton who was unable to attend, had arranged for our BT PRATS 2014 Commendation for Ridgways which Damon and Bernhard received gratefully with much aplomb. They appreciate that while we have had a group dinner twice a year with them many of us dine there in between times with family members or friends.

Bob also prepared a lucky number prize again. The winner this time was Ronni Sutton, a LAWS member. Jill Peacock presented her with the prize as seen in the picture below.
